Maxol Bring Back “The Fuel Economy Drive”

Maxol, Ireland’s leading forecourt and convenience retailer is holding a Fuel Economy Drive event on Sunday the 25th of September at Maxol M3 Mulhuddart Services. This is the company’s first year hosting the event and Maxol is asking car brands, car enthusiasts and families to take part. The aim of the event is to determine the most fuel-efficient driver and car pairing to complete a pre-planned route which will begin and end at Maxol’s new M3 Mulhuddart Services outlet.

This fun challenge event being is being organised by Maxol and motor industry specialists Leo Nulty Promotions. The cost of entry is €30.00, which will include a €20.00 fuel voucher and a Moreish lunch voucher. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Maxol’s official charity partner Aware.

The event kicks off at Maxol’s new M3 Mulhuddart Service at 9am and will run on public roads on a pre-determined course as set by the event organisers.  Entrants will be divided into appropriate vehicle classes.

Bragging rights and the winners trophy will go to the car and driver pairing that complete the course using the least amount of fuel.

“This is our first year hosting The Maxol Fuel Economy Drive, an event that offers the motor industry, enthusiasts and families a fun day out and to put their fuel efficient driving to the test. We’re looking forward to welcoming all participants and finding out far they can stretch their Km per litre fuel consumption when adopting a fuel efficient driving style.

En route, drivers can take part in an optional treasure hunt with the requirement of taking photos at selected scenic stops along the route.

There are classes for the following vehicles-

  1. Petrol Vehicles
  2. Diesel Vehicles
  3. Hybrid Vehicles (eligible for class award, not overall)
  4. Classic Cars
  5. Light Commercial Vehicles (Vans)
  6. EVs (Electric vehicles)

Awards will be presented after the finish for all classes with the addition of a Social Media/Treasure Hunt Award, a Spirit of the Event” Award and a “Worst Fuel Economy Award” In Addition to this, there will be an award for the Blogger/Journalist who achieves the best fuel economy.

 

Details of the route and checkpoints will be provided in the competitors’ road books provided at registration at 9.00a.m. on Sunday 25th September. All cars will be fuelled and their tanks sealed by the event team at Maxol M3 Mulhuddart Services.
