PODIUM AND LAP RECORD FOR JAKE BYRNE AT SILVERSTONE
Kildare’s Jake Byrne scored a pair of impressive podium finishes in the first two rounds of the UK BRSCC Formula Ford 1600 Championship in Silverstone last weekend. Driving his Ray GR13, Jake was immediately on the pace, despite not having driven on the circuit before.

MURPHY PROTOTYPES ANNOUNCE DRIVER LINE-UP AT OFFICIAL PRE SEASON TEST
Irish Endurance Racing team Murphy Prototypes last week confirmed that its driver line up for 2015 will comprise three highly experienced drivers: Mark Patterson, Michael Lyons and Nathanaël Berthon. All took part in the Official European Le Mans Series pre-season test day at Paul Ricard Circuit on 23rd & 24th March, driving the team’s Oreca 03R Nissan-powered LMP2 prototype sportscar. JAKE BYRNE TEAMS UP WITH PUNCHESTOWN RACECOURSE FOR UK FF1600 CAMPAIGN
Kildare racing driver Jake Byrne has attracted sponsorship from Punchestown Racecourse for his 2015 UK Formula Ford 1600 race campaign. At just 20 years old, the Trinity College Engineering student is already a two time motor racing champion and in 2015 he will emulate many famous Irish race drivers as he crosses the Irish Sea for compete in a UK FF1600 series- the BRSCC FF1600 National Championship. In the innovative deal, brokered by Leo Nulty Promotions, Jake’s Ray Formula Ford 1600 car will carry Punchestown branding as he races at many of the UK’s top circuits throughout 2015. NEWMAN LAUNCHES CHAMPIONSHIP CAMPAIGN IN BIRR.
Fourth in class after a character building event for Ashbourne’s Jack Newman. Jack Newman commenced this title campaign at the Birr Stages Rally, the opening round of the 2015 Triton Showers National Rally Championship. Driving his 280bhp Mk2 Escort, which had been rebuilt at his family garage over the winter, Newman was confident of a strong performance in Birr.
Patch Tyre Equipment Reunites With McHale Team For 2015.
Having spent two years as title sponsor of the hugely successful Mondello –based Fiesta race series, Brian Matthews’ Patch Tyre Equipment company returns to the rally stages for 2015 in a deal that sees them support Aaron McHale. “We had two wonderful years with the race series at Mondello, said Matthews today, “and the partnership worked for everyone but the time is right to go back to rallying.
