F1 Stars Norris and Sainz Send Message of Support to Sean Woods

Sean Woods is well known and loved in motor racing circles. The Dundalk man is an accomplished racing driver and former team owner, a role he was equally as successful in. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year.
His family and friends subsequently organised the Fiestaval race meeting at Mondello last year, where Sean, shortly after diagnosis, competed in the Fiesta Zetec team race- even managing to lead until a puncture forced him to retire! The event, along with a Coffee Morning, raised over €10,000 for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association and importantly also raised awareness of the debilitating disease amongst the motor racing community.
Sean remains a big F1 fan and especially of the McLaren pairing of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris, whose social media antics are as impressive as their performances on track in 2020. Sean’s daughter Aimee, also a racer, got in touch with Mondello commentator Leo Nulty, a longtime family friend, suggesting that Sean would love an autograph or message of support from one of the drivers. Nulty subsequently contacted the McLaren communication department and was delighted to receive the below video message, which Aimee was able to send to Sean just before last Sunday’s Eiffel Grand Prix.
Sean was understandably delighted with his message, as were his family and friends. The Woods family would like the video to also help with awareness of the disease though and would urge people to share the video but also to visit http://watchyourbackmnd.com/ and if possible, to donate too.
