Closed Wheel Libre returns to Mondello Park for 2019

Mondello Park is pleased to announce that due to demand for track time by a range of sports and saloon racing championships a Closed Wheel Libre race will be introduced for 2019.

With a number of different closed wheel championships looking for races, on a very busy calendar, a decision has been made in conjunction with Motorsport Ireland, to amalgamate those classes. A precedent was set at the 2018 Leinster Trophy where a combination of Supercars, ITCC and GT Endurance cars produced a full grid and excellent racing, and the aim is to reproduce this on a regular basis by combining the Supercar and Seat Championships with GT cars.

The new series will have eight races over four events at Mondello Park starting at the season opener on April 13^th & 14^th. Each event will have a single fifteen minute qualifying session followed by two fifteen minute races.

Nicole Drought was one of a number of drivers to test with Murray Motorsport recently.
