Dyno Your Car for €55 with Trackdays.ie- including lunch!

Set up by Rob King and Steven Kershaw, Trackdays.ie has been an instant success. The clue may be in the name and yes, they do organise trackdays, but they also go a little bit further.

The thing about organised trackdays, as opposed to open ones, is that the standard of driving tends to be slightly better, with fewer less experienced (dare we say clueless?) newbies wandering about on track.  Having visited one of their days lately, we found it hugely enjoyable with and first timers being given plenty of help and advice, as well as the offer of some track day tuition of required. Trackdays.ie even have their own fleet of Honda Civic race prepared cars, which are available to rent, with an instructor alongside, for part, or all of the day. (Not a bad thing to do, if you are thinking of taking up racing by the way.)

They also sell lubricants, branded clothing and circuit decals and in a few weeks time, in association with Stone Motorsport, they will host a Dyno Day. This will be held in Stone Motorsport’s state of the art premises just outside Monasterevin. Both road and competition cars are welcome and the cost of just €55 includes lunch and a guided tour of Stone Motorsport’s premises. Having had the tour, we can assure you that it is definitely worth doing- Stone Motorsport have their own paintshop and rolling road as well as fabrication and engine building areas.

In their own words: “The dyno day is an opportunity to run your car on Stone Motorsport’s state of the art rolling road to check its performance. You’ll get a couple of dyno pulls with print outs inc AFR etc and some advice/recommendations from the aptly named Joe Power (who runs the dyno & is probably Ireland’s foremost authority on mapping). Lunch and refreshments will be provided and there will also be a tour round the premises and a look into the fab shop and at some of their ongoing projects. It should be a fantastic day and a chance to have a bit of craic with some like minded people.”

The cost of the day is €55 per car (normally €80) and the price includes lunch for you and a guest, should you want to bring one. Below is a map with directions to Stone Motorsport and you can book your place on the dyno day HERE.
