New Junior Award for the 2017 PlasticBags.ie Southern 4 Rally Championship

The organisers of the PlasticBags.ie Southern 4 Rally Championship are delighted to announce details of the new Junior Trophy award for 2017. This award is aimed at encouraging new junior competitors into the sport of rallying while also offering a cost effective, competitive championship existing junior competitors. The award will aim to provide a more simplified approach to the building and preparation of junior specification rally cars. The emphasis will be on using more standard parts while permitting sensible and affordable modifications to be incorporated. The Junior Trophy will run in parallel with the existing Southern 4 Junior Rally Championship with

Junior Trophy competitors also being eligible to win the overall 2017 Southern 4 Junior Rally Championship title. Cars that are not eligible for the Junior Trophy category will compete for the overall Southern 4 Junior Rally Championship title as before. The Southern 4 Rally Championship Committee is delighted to be able to announce that a substantial prize list will be on offer to the winners of the 2017 PlasticBags.ie Southern 4 Junior Trophy, details of which are currently being finalised.

The prize list is being assembled with the valued support of our championship sponsor, PlasticBags.ie in association with the Junior Trophy associate sponsors Cork Motor Club, Killarney and District Motor Club, Carrick on Suir Motor Club, Imokilly Motor Club, Munster Car Club, Skibbereen & District Car Club, Paul Browne Plant Hire, P&J Casey Engineering, Healy Motorsport, EARS Motorsport and SW Adair Tyres.

The Southern 4 Rally Championship committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the Motorsport Ireland Technical Advisory Group (TAG), The Motorsport Ireland Scrutineers Group and the Rallies Committee for supporting and advising the championship on this new and exciting initiative.
