Christmas Comes Early for Kellett as he Jumps to Fiesta ST Series for 2017

16 year old William Kellett will graduate to the Fiesta ST series in 2017, thanks to a deal with Leo Nulty Promotions and Dublin Bodyshop JH Autobody. A regular winner in Junior Rallycross, William moved to Future Classics in 2016, the family Kellett Motorsport Team having upgraded his rallycross car to 1300cc. Despite a deficit of power to most of the cars on the grid, the 5th year student was competitive all year, even scoring an outright win, which earned him a nomination for the Motorsport Ireland Young Driver Of The Year Award.
The deal sees a Fiesta ST and the relevant build kit delivered from JH Autobody to the Kellett Motorsport workshops in Kells in county Meath, where both William and father Alistair will build it to race spec, before beginning testing in early 2017.

The Fiesta ST series was introduced by Mondello Park in 2016 as a step up from the hugely successful 1.25 Zetec Fiestas. The class was a resounding success in its first season with many new drivers joining the grid for 2017.

William Kellett: “I can’t wait for next season now. I’d like to thank JH Autobody and Leo Nulty Promotions for this opportunity and of course my parents, without them, I wouldn’t be racing at all!

Barry Hallion, JH Autobody: “I had considered doing the ST series myself, but business has been good in 2016 and we simply didn’t have the time. When Leo suggested I help William, I jumped straight in. William is a great young driver and Alistair knows how to win races. Let’s hope the JH Autobody Fiesta can win in 2017!”
