Blackchurch Motors have announced their driver line up for the 2015 Fiesta 6 hour endurance race at Mondello Park next weekend. The Rathcoole based outfit will field two ‘works’ cars with a strong driver line up in both. Joining Blackchurch regular driver, Barry Rabbitt, in his car will be Richie Kearney and Kevin O Hara. Rabbitt was dominant in the 2015 Fiesta championship securing 5 wins from the opening 6 races and holds a string of race wins in various categories. Richie Kearney, a six time Phoenix Park winner and saloon car stalwart returns to the team after a great showing in the 2014 event. New to the team for 2015 is former young driver of the year and 2015 Martin Donnelly Trophy winner Kevin O’Hara who brings with him a wealth of racing experience and pace.
The second ‘works’ car will be driven by 2014 Fiesta Champion Sean Lillis who is joined by Seat Supercup race winner Niall Quinn and reigning Formula Ford Festival Champion, Wayne Boyd.
Also running from the Blackchurch camp are two teams of visiting UK drivers all of whom will experience Mondello Park for the first time this weekend. The first of those teams is made up of father and son team Kevin and Charlie Bird with Ginetta Supercup competitor Martin Thomas alongside. The fourth and final car running from the Blackchurch garage is headed by BMW racer Tom Houlbrook with his team mates Arran Moulton-Smith, Mark Smith and Christopher Boardman.
Blackchurch owner Jonathan Woods is looking forward to the event ‘We came so close to winning last year and in the process we learnt a lot, our two works cars are filled by some of the fastest drivers in Ireland and that’s not by accident!! Our visiting UK drivers also have quite a pedigree and could be a threat to the regulars’
