Video- FF1600 Star Of Tomorrow. Mondello Park 1994.

Back in the early 90s, Formula Ford 1600 was in rude health in Ireland and the “Star of Tomorrow” race was always a hard fought scrap.  In 1994 it was pretty much a straight fight between the Mondiale of Moville’s Damien Faulkner and Michael Duke in the Dukes Transport Swift. Karting graduate Ken Grandon was there or thereabouts too in the ex Derek Cunneely Mondiale. As ever, the Leinster Trophy was televised and the one they all wanted to win. Faulkner gets the jump off the line, but Duke was in a determined mood- the result made great television viewing!
