2010 rookie champion Stephen Maher returns to compete for the 2015 MicksGarage.com ITCC Super Touring title.
Having won the rookie title in 2010, Stephen went on to compete at a number of ITCC rounds in 2011 and was a regular podium finisher before he headed to the UK to drive for Gilmartin Motorsport in the Britcar 24hr Endurance Series and Snetterton 6hr Classic finishing well in both events.
He then embarked on rebuilding an E36 M3 GTR which featured in a number of rounds of Irish GT and ITCC in 2014.
For this season, Stephen has done a deal with Dave O Brien to purchase his title winning BMW E46 M3 saloon, the car that also holds the ITCC lap record.
“I wanted to get back to driving in ITCC having spent two years under the bonnet of the GTR” said Maher, “and when Dave’s car came up, it seemed like an opportunity to good to miss. I’ve only managed to drive the car off the trailer so far, so the first couple of rounds will be learning about the car which is LHD but I don’t expect to be too far off the pace of the FWD Spanish invasion!”
The 2015 MicksGarage ITCC kicks off this weekend at Mondello Park, with all the action being shown live on Mondello.tv
