IAN LYNAS REVIEWS A NEW BOOK ON THREE VERY SPECIAL FERRARIS

Lord Bamford is a highly respected Ferrari enthusiast and a new book penned by James Taylor, “The Bamford Ferrari Specials” is a must have for those who have a passion for the scarlet cars from Italy.

Lord Bamford started his unique car collection back in the 1960s and this new book very much reflects his passion for both engineering and design. Ferrari for him; engines which literally scream and which deliver superb handling. With his hands on dedication to excellence at JCB over the years, no surprise at all; he considered the design and manufacture of these three bespoke Ferrari Specials as something of a personal challenge, offering his very own technical and aesthetic experience in order to create something which can only be described as outstanding. The result is a unique trio with Italian heritage, two striking coupes and a muscular Spyder which pays homage to the 1964 250 GTO.

Throughout the pages of this special book with more than 160 images it examines the design of all three cars, their creation by specialists and craftsmen and Lord Bamford’s own input which proved essential to the whole process. These three very special Ferrari cars of which he is so very proud are an important part of his car collection. published by Porter Press International price £40/€47.95
