Ferrari introduced its first mid/rear V12 powered sports race car the 250 P in 1963; and it was to go on to win the Le Mans 24 Hours twice; the only car from Maranello to achieve this.

A lavish new book, a limited edition of just 750 copies, tells the story of this very special Ferrari, there are more than 260 images contained within 240 pages. Four 250 Ps were built for the 1963 season; along with the 275 Ps and the 330 Ps; they competed in the Prototype class of the FIA Manufacturers World Championship. The first of two wins at Le Mans came in 1963 with Ludovico Scarfiotti and Lorenzo Bandini sharing the driving and it was the first rear engined car to win the world famous race. The 275 P which won in 1964 was a direct development of the 250 P; it featured a 3.3 litre engine, the 250 P had a three litre power unit; in addition there were minor alterations to the bodywork. There were a number of other drivers who took the wheel of this famous Ferrari including Mike Parkes, Nino Vaccarella and Pedro Rodriguex. This art style book delivers a full history of this iconic and historic Ferrari from its three victories as a works entry to its time spent racing in the USA.

For five decades it has been in the ownership of renowned Ferrari collector Pierre Bardinon for his collection Mas du Clos.
