Denning to tackle exciting GT4 Season Closer in Jeddah

Alex Denning has travelled to Saudi Arabia this week to take on the final round of the 2024 GT4 European Series in Jeddah this weekend.

GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club makes its first-ever visit to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The ultra-fast street track on the Red Sea coast promises to be a thrilling addition to the calendar and a fitting setting for the finale. Featuring average speeds matched only by Monza, the 6.2km venue will demand bravery and precision in equal measure, while the fact that it is brand-new to almost the entire grid adds further intrigue to the title fights.

A total of 35 cars will take part in the season-closing event. They include a guest entry from GT3 powerhouse Comtoyou Racing, which will field twin Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4s for a quartet of Saudi Arabian drivers. CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa class winner Reema Juffali will share the #28 Am entry with Ahmed Bin-Khanen, while Fahad Algosaibi and Bandar Alesayi will share the #26 car in Pro-Am.  Ireland’s Alex Denning teams up with Tom Emson in the Elite Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4.  Despite a relative lack of recent mileage, Alex has been in the top ten in both of the opening practise sessions.

Alex was positive ahead of opening practise: “I am really looking forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity to race in Saudi Arabia. I have never raced in the dark or on a street circuit. These two combined with the 2nd highest average speed of any track in the world will make for an extremely exciting but risky race weekend. The margins for error are non-existent. It is the same concept of Monaco, just at twice the speed”
The GT4 cars will tackle two one hour races over the weekend,  one in daytime and on at night. Alex, as ever, is keen to get racing:
“On my end, I have done all the preparation physically and mentally at the gym, running and on the simulator at home to ensure I am in the best possible shape heading into the weekend. All live streams and timings over the weekend can be assessed through my website at alexdenningracing.com
