Roe Ready To Tackle Indy Lights Round 2 with Renewed Focus and Energy

The second event weekend in the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires will see TJ Speed driver James Roe Jr. travel south to the famed 2.38-mile, 15-corner Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama. Returning to the facility and track that he tested at less than two weeks ago, Roe is looking to catapult up the running order and earn his best career Indy Lights result.
“I am happy to get to a permanent facility and one that I love,” explained Roe. “The St. Pete race was basically a baptism of fire. It is difficult to enter a new series with a new team at a track where track time is limited. We had a good test at Barber a few weeks ago so I’m looking forward to a good race weekend.”
As a former race winner in multiple open-wheel series, Roe is looking to take his partners and himself back to the top in the premier division in the Road to Indy ladder program.
Roe continued, “We have worked really hard over the past few weeks on both the performance of the car and performance on my side. We have our goals for this weekend and look forward to the challenge of achieving them. I need to thank TJ Speed for all their effort but also to all my partners for their continued support. We continue to build the blocks together. Thank you Topcon Positioning Systems, Multimatic Motorsports, CES Power and Trintech.”
James Roe Jr. will hit the track on Friday afternoon for the first of two practice sessions on the weekend. Saturday will be the home of practice two and qualifying before round two of the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires takes the green flag on Sunday morning.
