Siltex Safety Stays Onboard as Fiesta Zetec Grids Bulge to Capacity

Dublin based Safety and workwear supplier Siltex Safety has today been announced as the title sponsor for the Fiesta Zetec series, which will run as part of the ICCR series at Mondello Park in 2022. Siltex came onboard in 2021 and the partnership was so successful, they have decided to stay onboard for at least one more season.
The 1250cc Fiestas were introduced in 2013 as a budget entry level class and have received significant boosting over the last number of years with increased technical policing and professional promotion.
2021 Champion Michael Barrable is back to defend his hard won title and has already been spotted testing ahead of the opening round on April 10th. He will be challenged hard though, as hugely experienced saloon racer Alan Dawson is also back, running this time with his nephew Keith Dawson as team mate. Keith is a former sports car champion and has already shown well in Mondello Park testing. race winner Andy Kavanagh also returns, with a newly built car and should be right at the sharp end, as should Ian Fishbourne who showed great pace last season despite relatively little experience. At the season launch in Naas yesterday, it was announced that almost 40 drivers have already registered for the series, making it easily the most popular racing class in the country.

Leo Nulty, Championship Promoter::’I’m delighted to welcome Neil and Siltex Safety back onboard for 2022. We have worked very hard with this series over the last number of years and it’s great to see it showing in the numbers. We will have the biggest grids in the ICCR paddock in 2022 – and some of the best presented cars too. With spectator numbers rising and more cars on the grid, sponsors, both to the class and to the individual drivers, will now see a real increase in their return.”

Neil Murphy, Siltex Safety: “I am very happy to continue our association with the Zetec Championship for 2021. The racing is second to none, the cars are presented superbly and it is no surprise that the numbers have risen so much. We are really looking forward to the season and personally, I can’t wait for the opening round at Mondello Park on April 10th”
