Irish Owned Pinnacle Motorsport announce 4-car entry in Formula Regional Asian Championship

The Formula Regional Asian Championship Certified by FIA may have taken on a new name for its 5th season, but Pinnacle Motorsport’s ultimate goal of winning races remains the same in 2022. The Motorsport Ireland-licensed team aims to achieve this through a four-car entry as they confirm Dilano van ‘t Hoff, Pepe Marti, Ayato Iwasaki, and Salih Yoluc as their drivers in the 15-race calendar.
Headlining the team’s charge is Dutchman Dilano van ‘t Hoff. The 17-year-old enjoyed a successful stint in karting before graduating to single seaters in 2021. His talent was quickly recognized in the Formula 4 UAE Championship with his string of podiums and race wins, missing out on the title by just a single point. Van ‘t Hoff then dominated the F4 Spanish Championship later that year to take the driver’s crown with ease.
Also joining Pinnacle Motorsport’s roster is Pepe Marti. He was the top rookie in the CIK-FIA World Karting Championship back in 2020 before stepping up to F4 UAE and Spanish F4 where he raced against Van ‘t Hoff. He scored several podiums and race wins in both series and finished 3rd in the driver’s championship in Spanish F4.
Ayato Iwasaki is the team’s third driver in the Formula Regional Asian Championship. The Japanese youngster is a rising star in karting and Is a strong contender in the IAME Series Asia in Seniors. Iwasaki holds a lot of potential waiting to be discovered as he makes his single-seater debut.
Salih Yoluc is a renowned driver in the world of sports car racing. He has had strong results in events such as the Dubai 24 Hours, 24 Hours of Spa, Blancpain GT Series, FIA World Endurance Championship, and finished 2nd in GTE in the European Le Mans Series. Yoluc is also the first ever Turkish driver to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a GTE Am victory in 2020. He brings a wealth of experience on his first outing in single-seaters.
The five-round 2022 race calendar of the Formula Regional Asian Championship will all be based in the UAE. It kicks off on the 21st of January at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit before moving to the Dubai Autodrome for three consecutive rounds. The season finale will see the series return to Yas Marina on the 17th of February and complete a 15-race championship.
