Suirway Group Mondello Rallysprint Postponed

The 2021 Suirway Group Rallysprint Championship was due to start this weekend at Mondello Park, but the circuit announced this morning that this, the opening round, has been postponed.
Despite attracting strong entries in 2020, before being cancelled due to Covod restricitons, there were simply not enough entries this time round to run the event, This is in complete contrast to the Motor Racing season, which, under the new ICCR (Irish Championship Circuit Racing) guise, started last weekend, with strong support and big grids.

Roddy Greene, Mondello Park: “It’s disappointing for sure. Interest was so strong last year, but if we don’t get the numbers, it is just not viable to run the event. If there is an appetite for the round to be rescheduled, we would be happy to do that.”
