Tom Edgar Impresses at Ginetta Junior Silverstone Test

Karter Tom Edgar, from Belfast was the talk of the pitlane at the official Ginetta Test Day at Silverstone last Saturday.

Having just signed a deal with the TCR Team, the former treble karting champion threw the cat firmly into the pigeons by topping the time sheets in the opening session, going on to do the same in the second, third and fourth sessions. As ever the class was hotly contested and Edgar only lost out on the fastest time by a few hundreths in the last session by virtue of not getting an all important tow around the fast Silverstone circuit. One thing is sure though, the Northern Irishman is one to watch when the season kicks off next month!

The third generation of the Edgar family, Tom’s grandfather Brian and father Mike both had successful single seater careers, with Mike taking two Irish Formula Opel titles and multiple FF1600 successes.

Billed by many as one of the most competitive car racing series in the UK, the Ginetta Junior Championship will visit six well known circuits in 2020 and as ever, will support the BTCC and therefore enjoy live Sunday coverage on ITV4.
