Roe Sets Sights on F3 Podium At Road America

Assisting his team in garnering points to lead the F3 Americas Powered by Honda Team Championship, Global Racing Group driver James Roe Jr. is aiming for the podium this coming weekend. Set to take on the famed Road America facility in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, the Irishman has his sights firmly planted on the podium as he looks to continue his consistent points haul in 2019.
“We have been extremely consistent throughout the season scoring points in ten of eleven races in the championship,” expressed James Roe Jr. “We have a good shot of catapulting up to third or fourth in the driver championship but need to have a few strong runs in the final few events as well as have lady luck on our side.”
Coming off a pair of fifth place finishes at the Virginia International Raceway a few weeks ago, Roe understands what is needed to be at the front of the F3 Americas grid and has been working on that since the checkered flag for round eleven.
“Our weekend race results stem from our qualifying performances, and my goal is to fix that this weekend,” added Roe. “The F3 Americas grid is full of talent and these cars at some of the facilities that we compete at make it very hard to pass. I don’t believe that will be the case at Road America as the longer layout allows for a lot of drafting and passing opportunities, but we need to qualify better in order to finish further up the grid.”
Taking on the 4.014-mile, 14-turn facility, James Roe Jr. will hit the track on Thursday for a pair of F3 Americas practice sessions. Friday will be the home for qualifying and round thirteen with Saturday setting the stage for round fourteen.
Roe added, “I am very excited to welcome guests from Topcon Positioning Group this weekend at RoadAmerica. I can’t say enough about the support from them and all of my partners, and the team, throughout 2019. Without them, I would not be where I am today. A huge thank you to CJJ Motorsports, Topcon Positioning Group, The Vortex Companies, Bennett Law Office, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and Global Racing Group.”
In other news, James Roe Jr. traveled back to Ireland last weekend to take park in the Mondello Park Historic Festival. Driving an ex-Derek Daly March F1 Car that is now owned by John Campion and his team CJJ Motorsports, Roe participated in the Festival and represented the F3 Americas Powered by Honda series and his partners.
