Stryker Championship To be Decided at Mondello Next Weekend

The 2018 Irish Stryker Championship will come to a conclusion next weekend at the Leinster Trophy weekend at Mondello Park.  After a thrilling season, just two men are in with a chance of taking the title- longtime series leader Greg Kelly and class stalwart Andy D’Alton.
Having shared the wins when the title chase visited Kirkistown in Northern Ireland last time out, there is nothing to separate the duo, and each will be aiming to win when the 1800cc Zetec powered sportscars take to the Mondello tarmac.
They will of course, also have to stay out of trouble and mindful of this, there are a host of others who will fancy their chances of tasting the winner’s champagne this weekend. Both Bill and Dave Griffin are proven front runners and both return to the class for the 2018 finale. Nicole Drought, in her first full season in the class, has shown race winning pace on occasion and will be keen to repeat her Bishopscourt battle with D’Alton. David Reynolds, also a novice, has improved hugely as the season progressed and could also spring a surprise.
There are plenty others though, who could be worth an outside bet. Stephen Ross was hugely impressive in Kirkistown and will want to show similar form, Damian Roddy returns to the class after a long absence but driving a car which has already taken a win this season! Add to this a handful of experienced Stryker drivers and a host of newbies to the class and you have the recipe for some great racing.
All of Sunday’s action will be covered by Irish Motorsport.tv and subsequently broadcast on Eir Sport.

Andy D’Alton is the only one who can stop Greg Kelly from clinching his first Stryker title this weekend.
