It’s show number five in 2018 for the much-acclaimed Wheels4Kris two and four wheeled event at Tesco’s Bentrim Road site in Lisburn, which has become very much part of the Northern Ireland car scene. On Sunday 5th August from 6.30pm vehicles from classic to modified will gather to support a worthy cause, fund-raising for new defibrillator around the town, and to honour the memory of car enthusiast Kristopher Niblock, who at just twenty died suddenly at his Lisburn home in 2014.
The Niblock family organised the first show with the support of Tesco’s in 2014, and from then it’s has grown massively, with almost four hundred vehicles on display in 2017. “The aim this year is to raise enough money to put a defibrillator here at Tesco’s and one at Pond Park Road petrol station and if possible another two for the town” said Hilary Niblock speaking at the official launch. “We would like to welcome all eras of cars, motorcycles and even vintage tractors to the event, and also the general public of course. It’s free in to view the show but donations for this worthy cause would be greatly appreciated.” A variety of vehicles at the launch of the 2018 Wheels4Kris Show.
With an entry fee of just £7 per vehicle for exhibitors, it’s a popular event, and a family event, with stalls, merchandise available, face-painting, food stalls and kid’s activities. “Thanks also for the support from Tesco, Primacy Meats, Canprint, 4Corners Graphics and Ironside Trophies to help run the event, and hopefully the weather will be kind to us and we can build on the last few years.”
The 5Th August will be a busy day for the Niblock family as they will be in Enniskillen in the morning attending The Departure Lounge Drag Day at St.Angelo airfield. “The organisers of this event Kleen Freaks, Straight-Liners and Letstance kindly made Wheels4Kris the chosen charity, so this event so will help with the fund-raising, and the more we can raise, the number of defibrillators can increase.”
It’s time to mark the diary for two and four wheeled enthusiasts as this annual extravaganza is once again set to provide great interest and entertainment in Lisburn!
