The Sean Edwards Foundation is delighted to announce the Milan to Monaco Challenge Bike Ride 17th to 22nd May 2019 and its partnership with Dream Challenges.

The Bike Ride will consist of cycling across three countries in four days covering 400km. The aim of the challenge is to build awareness of safety in motorsport and for the foundation and to raise much needed funding. The cycle ride will start from the stylish Italian city of Milan in northern Italy to the 2nd smallest country in the world the principality of Monaco, lying on the French Riviera, ending at the world famous and prestigious Formula One Grand Prix of Monte Carlo. In 2014 some of Sean’s friends including F1 & GT drivers started a Memorial Bike Ride which takes place around the streets of Monaco, in remembrance of Sean.

Daphne McKinley-Edwards founder and chairman says “I am delighted to partner with Dream Challenges for the SEF Bike Challenge from Milan to Monaco in 2019 in honour of my son Sean, our aim is to build on awareness for the foundation and raise much needed funding to help SEF continue its work in Motorsport Safety.” For more information and to book your place click the logo below.

The Sean Edwards Foundation is the only registered UK based charity focused on raising safety awareness in motorsport. We work directly with drivers, teams and tracks to conceive and implement risk mitigation initiatives throughout all levels of racing.

Like many motorsport focused charities before it, SEF was born out of tragedy. Sean was killed in Australia on October 15, 2013. He was coaching a rookie driver from the passenger seat when the car left the track and hit a concrete wall. Sean was just 26 years old but had already achieved and impressive motorsport career including back to back Dubai 24H wins, triumph at the Nurburgring 24H and was on the cusp of taking the Porsche Supercup Championship, having been Vice Champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 2011 and 2012. Several factors contributed to Sean’s death, but had better attention been paid to simple safety procedures he would be racing today.
