Kilkenny man finishes 8th overall in #WRC Rally Australia

Ever heard of Shamrock Motorsport? Probably not. They are an Australian based Irish rally Team owned by Richie Dalton from Kilkenny. Incredibly, with Queensland’s John Allen on the notes, Richie has just finished eighth on #WRC Rally Australia. The feat becomes even more impressive when you realise that the duo had never driven an R5 before, nor had they ever entered a WRC event!

Richie Dalton: “What a weekend! This is the stuff dreams are made of. Looking at the results is like looking at the end of a PlayStation game! Our 1st time in a left hand drive. 1st time in an R5 and 1st time entering the World Rally Championship. 8th overall and a few top 10 stage times and 1st in RC2.

Massive thanks to Race Torque Engineering for supplying and maintaining the mega Skoda R5 all weekend. It only took 5 front bumpers, 2 rear bumpers, 1 front light and 1 rear light!
