International Challenge For MI Young Driver Carey!

Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of The Year Cian Carey joins an international field this weekend with a one-off appearance in the Formula Summer race as part of the Spa Summer Classic at the famous Belgian circuit. Cian’s CDR team takes a quartet of drivers to join a grid comprising Austrian F3 Championship, Italian and a handful of the UK’s F3 Cup entrants.
Cian will be joined by CDR team mates Gino Ussi and Peter Venn, with team boss Chris Dittmann also stepping back into the cockpit for the weekennd.

Since joining the UK F3 Cup series in 2017, the Meath driver has raised quite a few eyebrows, even breaking the class lap record on his first visit to Donington Park earlier in the season. last time out he scored a podium at Silverstone and is keen to carry this form through to Spa this weekend.

Cian Carey, Motorsport Ireland Young Driver of The Year:
“I am really looking forward to this weekend. To race on a famous Grand Prix circuit is very special. Even though it’s not a round of the UK Cup series, I won’t be there just to make up numbers! As ever, thank you to Motorsport Ireland and Sport Ireland for their continued support!”

Practice for the weekend takes place at 10:50 CET and on Friday June 23, with qualifying at 18:10. Race one gets underway at 10:15 CET on Saturday June 24, with race two at 10:20 on Sunday June 25.
