On The Road- 1000 Classic Cars Expected at Punchestown This Weekend!

The Irish Vintage & Veteran Car Club is hosting its inaugural Festival of Transport event at Punchestown on May 14th next and is expecting 1,000 Cars to attend. The IVVCC is the umbrella organisation for the classic and vintage car scene in Ireland and has close to 70 affiliated clubs. Having supported regional shows for decades, the IVVCC decided last year to host its own event in 2017.
Speaking of the decision, IVVCC President Shane Houlihan said: “There has been an appetite for some time within IVVCC to run our own event. Last year we bit the bullet and decided on Punchestown for its easy connectivity and the abundance on indoor and outdoor tarmac exhibition space. This is important for our members who’ll be coming from around the country and Punchestown allows ease of access and solid standing for the valuable cars on display”
The event opens to the public from 10 am to 5pm and admission is €10.00 for adults with children going free. In addition to the cars, motorcycles and steam engines on display, there will be over 40 trade & auto jumble stands and face painting, ballooning and rides for the children.
