#BTCC @AidenMoffat16 Wins Race 1 @DunlopBTCC @DoningtonParkUK

Aiden Moffat wins the opening race at Donington Park to take his maiden victory in the series.
Moffat started from fourth, making moves past Jack Goff, Tom Ingram and Rob Austin to take the lead midway through the race, opening up a gap over Matt Neal and Austin, who rounded out the podium.

Colin Turkington came home fourth, just behind Austin but yellow flags at the final chicane ruined any attempt at the pass but the Portadown driver will take that result after starting 10th.

The BMW driver moves up to sixth in the championship, 16 points behind leader Gordon Shedden.

Aron Taylor-Smith was running in the points before getting involved in a four-car scrap, which resulted in contact with team-mate Dan Llyod and putting both out of contention.

It was also a disappointing race for Chris Smiley despite showing promising pace yesterday. The Carrickfergus driver was running just outside the points in 16th before clashing with Tom Chilton. Smiley lost his rear wheel while Chilton retired with a heavily damaged front end.
