BILLY BACK IN ROTHMANS PORSCHE FOR DÉJÀ VU KILLARNEY

Billy Coleman the three times Circuit of Ireland Rally winner will be reunited with a Rothmans 911 during Déjà vu Killarney this Easter. Now owned and beautifully restored by John Mulholland, the County Antrim motor trader, the Porsche was a genuine Prodrive 911 similar to the car that Billy drove for the Dave Richards run team in the 1985 season.
Billy’s first Circuit win was in 1975 in an Escort RS1600. He repeated the win a year later in an RS1800 but it was another eight years before Billy, this time at the wheel of an Opel Manta 400 and with Ronan Morgan as his co-driver sprayed the champagne again at the finish of the five-day marathon. Ronan will again accompany Billy in two weeks time.
Coleman will be joined on the event by Stig Blonqvist, Saeed Al-Hajri, Bernard Beguin Jimmy McRae and Dai Llewellyn- makeing it an all star line up once again for the Easter classic!
Another of the highlights this Easter will be the recreation of the Rothmans Rally Team. Using MK II Escorts, Porsche 911’s, Opel Asconas and Mantas, BMW M3s and Metro 6R4s, the team had many successes on the Irish stages in the Group B period. Now some of their star drivers, co-drivers, and team personnel are returning for the Killarney celebrations.
Limited spaces are still available for both the event itself (any car is eligible) and the evening Gala Dinner- details HERE
