Nicole Drought Wins at Mondello Park

Nicole Drought took her debut ITCC (Irish Touring Car Championship) Production win at Mondello yesterday.
Fresh from a Porsche GT3 test at Le Castellet, Nicole entered the opening rounds of the ITCC in her Honda Integra, competing in the Production Class. Having been quickest in testing, she qualified on pole position, half a second clear of her competitors. Contact in race one sent her off track but she charged back to second place with fastest lap and in race two, she dominated, crossing the line some eight seconds ahead of her nearest challenger. Nicole now leads the championship as the series heads north to Bishopscourt in County Down for rounds three & four on May the 8th.
Nicole Drought: “I’m over the moon to take my first ITCC win. Bar the contact in race one, this is pretty much the perfect start to the season. A big thanks to ABR Sports for running the car all weekend and especially Jake Byrne, who helped me hugely with data analysis. I learnt a lot this weekend.”
Nicole, 21 is an Accountancy Student in UL in Limerick and made her motor racing debut in 2015, scoring six podiums in the ITCC and receiving a nomination for Motorsport Ireland’s Young Driver of The Year Award, the first ever female nominee in the history of the award.
