Hillclimb & Sprint to take centre stage at AXA Classic Car show at RDS

The Naylor Engineering Hillclimb & Sprint Championship are the main attraction at Motorsport Ireland stand at this weekend’s AXA Classic Car Show. On display will be a 450bhp Radical SR8 Le Mans type car. This beautiful car is an ex-Radical works car with the factory V8 finished with a carbon fibre shell. Also on display will be the home built Cento challenge car of Gary Egan, as an example of the fast growing entry level class- where it’s all about the driving. These ultra fun cars can be prepared in any home garage on a low budget. The Hillclimb cars will be surrounded by cars from all disciplines of motorsport, including Race, Rally, Autocross and karting.
The 2015 Champion Joe Courtney, main rival and friend Rory (Grandad) Stephens and a host of other drivers will be on hand over the weekend for a chat. With the usual Hillclimb banter guaranteed, Leo Nulty will have a challenging task as MC at Sunday’s 3pm launch.
The weekend will also see the first screening of the eagerly anticipated new Hillclimb promotional video, with stunning footage from last year’s season. With rumoured leaks of the video already, we look forward to the official launch and can’t wait to see who has made the final cut.
