2016 Plasticbags.ie Southern 4 Rally Championship Launched.

The launch of the Plasticbags.ie Southern 4 Rally Championship took place at the home of Plasticbags.ie in Annacotty Business Park, Co Limerick on Sunday last.

Attending the launch were members of the 2016 organising committee members of the press and rally fans.

Established in 1988, the Plasticbags.ie Southern 4 Rally Championship includes classic 2 day events like the West Cork Rally, The Rally of the Lakes  and The Cork 20 Rally.  Also in the calendar are some super one day rallys like the Ravens Rock, IMC Mini Stage, Fastnet  and Killarney Historic Rally.

The  Plasticbags.ie Southern 4 Rally Championship has always been one of the most popular regional rally championships in the country and 2016 looks very exciting. Even at this early stage, talk of new  R5 and Super 2000 rally cars for drivers bodes well for the Championship but the Southern 4 has long been the preserve of the clubman and the driver with real talent- our 2015 champion who will get his award next weekend is a true clubman , he may only have a Honda Civic but by sheer on the door handles driving Vincent McSweeney  became the 2015   Plasticbags.ie Southern 4 Rally Champion.

Speaking at the launch Championship Manager Colin Fitzgerald said, With just over a week to go to the prize giving for the 2015 Plasticbags.ie Southern 4 Rally Championship, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who took part in the 2015 championship and congratulate all the award winners. Without your support it would not be possible to run such a successful championship.

With the addition of the drive of the day awards and end of year drive of the championship awards, this is sure to add to the competition for 2016.I look forward to seeing you all at prize giving and at the first round in West Cork.
