Fiesta Time- with Sean Doyle

This weekend is my first venture into one of the Mondello Park Fiesta Championship cars, for the annual six hour Endurance race which takes place from twelve noon on Sunday. There will be over thirty cars entered in the race and its proving to be a competitive grid with some big names arriving, some new and some not so new.

As I’ve been away with Murphy Prototypes this season I’ve met some great people, one of who is Colin Lewis who has been racing in the Fiesta championship during this season. Earlier in the year he asked would I be interested in racing in the endurance race this weekend and I jumped at the offer. We then quickly put our heads together to see who else might have a interest and top of our list was one of ‘Murphy’s Men’, Michael Lyons, a former winner of the Monaco Classic Formula One race.

Our final driver has loads of Mondello Park experience as well as having raced Internationally as high up the ladder as Formula 3 and will be a great addition to our team but unfortunately we cant announce who it is yet. He’s been out of the saddle for a while but it should not take him long to get back up to speed.

I personally haven’t been in a car since August when I drove an ASK Supercar at Mondello Park but I have been keeping my eye in by doing some sim racing on IRacing, as well as getting in some time at Kylemore Karting indoor karting track.

Keep and eye out for us on Sunday, we’re in car 18 the Silver Fiesta run by the Murray Motorsport team. There won’t be live TV but you can listen in on http://mixlr.com/motorsportie/ while also keeping up to date with my social media, facebook.com/seandoyleracing and twitter.com/seandoyleracing
