COLEMAN’S 1974 ESCORT RETURNS FOR Circuit Déjà vu

Peter Jaeger, from Fuerth in Germany will reunite Billy Coleman with the Mk I Escort (VVX 958) that he and Leo White finished second in the 1974 Circuit of Ireland. Peter now owns this historic car and he will be accompanied by his father, mother and other members of his family in Killarney for the great Circuit Déjà vu reunion, which takes place over the Easter weekend (26th. to the 28th. March 2016).

In 1972, Hannu Mikkola drove VVX in the RAC Rally but retired. Chris Slater then bought the car from Ford and he used it in World Rally Championship and won the Jerez de la Fontera Rally. After this Billy used it in the British Rally Championship. In it he and Peter Scott won the Texaco Rally, now known as The Ulster Rally.

Amongst the 200 fans, former winners, and officials, that have already signed up for this nostalgic outing are, in addition to our German friends, people travelling from Australia, Jersey, Mallorca, the Isle of Man and a host from the UK.

VVX 958 will be just one of the star exhibits taking part in the Sunday Run.
