Alex Dunne wins again- 3 times! – Motorsport.ie

9 year old Alex Dunne’s incredible season continued at the weekend when he visited Nutts Corner circuit, just outside Belfast in Northern Ireland
Running his “IRL” plate, which he won in June this year, and despite not having tested the day before the race meeting, Alex was immediately on the pace.

Alex Nutts TrophyIn the first of three finals, Alex found himself embroiled in a dice with Motorsport Ireland Cadet Champion Sé Og Martin for the lead. Alex took the lead towards the end and held on for the chequered flag. The second final of the day, for the Tommy Rogers Memorial Trophy, was pretty much a carbon copy of the first, with Alex and Sé Og battling it out for the lead before the race was ended prematurely due to an incident elsewhere on the track. Having been leading when it mattered, Alex increased his win tally to two! With Sé Og sitting out the third and last Final of the day, Alex was unchallenged and crossed the line twelve seconds ahead of his nearest challenger- making it three wins and three fastest laps!
No time to rest on the laurels for Alex, as he goes to the UK to take on some of the best karters in the world as a guest driver in the Super One series at the PF International Circuit in Lincolnshire this weekend.
