Craft-Bamboo Racing announce Frank Yu and Richard Lyons for #88 Aston Martin Vantage GT3

Craft-Bamboo Racing is set to take on Asia’s best GT teams and drivers in the 2015 GT Asia series. The team is proud to announce GT-ace Richard Lyons will partner with seasoned GT Asia driver Frank Yu to drive the #88 Aston Martin Vantage GT3. This will be one of two Aston Martins entered by Craft-Bamboo Racing in this year’s GT Asia Series title bid.
Craft-Bamboo Racing has once again partnered with INTERUSH, who will be the title sponsor of the #88 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for the 2015 GT Asia season. INTERUSH has been a partner of Craft-Bamboo Racing since 2012, supporting its World Touring Car and World Endurance Championship campaigns to great success.
Richard Lyons is a multi-discipline driver with several championships under his belt. He would first find success in single seaters as a young driver in the United Kingdom, before moving to the Far East and scoring a double championship in 2004 when he won both the Formula Nippon and the GT500 Championship. It is this championship winning ability that Lyons brings with him to Craft-Bamboo Racing and he will be utilizing his intimate knowledge of GT racing to extract the greatest performance from the #88 Aston Martin.
Hong Kong’s Frank Yu began his racing career in 2007 and has been continuously developing his race-craft over the past eight seasons. His greatest success was winning the Malaysian Super Series Championship title in 2012 and taking P3 overall at the Dubai 24 hours in 2013, but Yu is best known for his GT Asia title challenges the last few seasons. His vast amount of experience behind the wheel of the Vantage GT3 and great knowledge of the Asian race circuits will make Frank Yu a tough competitor this season. Lyons and Yu will prove to be a dynamic pairing, as together they have a history of success including a second place finish in the 2014 GT Asia Series race in Autopolis, Japan. They will be looking to build on this record, and with the support of INTERUSH and the experience of Craft-Bamboo Racing, the team will surely be a formidable contender for this year’s championship title.
The first round of GT Asia will begin in South Korea, where the cars will line up on the grid at the Korea International Circuit. The weekend is comprised of two one-hour races, with the first to be held on Saturday May 16th, followed by the second race on Sunday May 17th. The pursuit of the GT Asia Championship Title would not be possible without the support of INTERUSH, Phytter, POAD, Gravity, Tunewear and FreeM.
