Faulkner & Denning to test & Niall Murray to race SEAT Supercopa

Former one-make saloon car champions Richie Faulkner and John Denning are set to test a SEAT Supercopa later this week in Mondello Park as both drivers evaluate joining the grid of the new SEAT Supercup Ireland. For former Punto Abarth Champion Faulkner, who has spent the last number of years as a front runner in karting, the test will mark a reunion with Murray Motorsport, the team with whom the Dubliner claimed his 2002 title. Commenting on the test Faulkner said, ‘they are a proper looking touring car and I am really excited about doing the test as anyone who has driven a SEAT Supercopa raves about them’.

Also set to test the car, which Niall Murray is set to make his SEAT Supercup debut in at Mondello Park on June 7th, Denning is excited about the test. Having watched his brother Liam, another former Abarth Champion, test one of the Sean Woods Racing cars at the championship’s first official test day, the 2013 Fiesta Champion said, ‘After Liam tested the SEAT I hadn’t seen him with a smile that big for a long time. I have been half avoiding doing a test as I know I am going to want to do the SEAT Supercup’. Former Northern Ireland Fiesta Champion James Turkington had no problems making the graduation to the SEAT Sport built 301Bhp Supercopa securing second behind Niall Quinn at the SEAT Supercup Ireland championship opener in Bishopscourt earlier this month.
