Leonard to make Carrera Cup Return at Silverstone
Irish Driver Karl Leonard will return to the Carrera Cup GB series later this month at the famous Silverstone circuit .
The 2019 Pro Am series Champion has not raced much in recent years, preferring instead to concentrate on his Porsche sales business. Having sold over 300 cars worldwide over the past four years, the Dubliner feels the time is right to take to the track once more.
Leonard, who was the first Pro Am driver to take an outright Carrera Cup UK win at Croft in 2019, usually competes with Team Parker Racing, but with no opportunities available there, he will join Jules Westwood’s Toro Verde GT team for his return to the series.
Rounds 13 & 14 of the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship take place on the Silverstone National Circuit on the weekend of September 21/22. Qualifying will be on Saturday the 21st with two races taking places on Sunday the 22nd.
Karl Leonard:
“I suppose it’s product knowledge, isn’t it? I’ve been away for a while as my business has been so busy but I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel again. I have worked with Jules before at Team Parker Racing and am looking forward to settling in with Dan Lloyd and the Toro Verde team.“
