CAREY TARGETS F3 CUP GLORY

Cian Carey returns to F3 Cup this year, and will be looking to capitalise on the momentum he gained through last year.
Hailing from Ratoath, north of Dublin, Cian joined F3 Cup for the 2017 season after winning the prestigious 2016 Young Irish Race Driver of the Year award, and the 2016 BOSS Ireland Championship. He started racing in 2010, in a Honda Integra in the ITCC, before moving to Formula Renault in 2013.

Despite missing the Silverstone GP rounds due to engine troubles, Cian’s consistent performances saw him finish 2017 in a fine third place overall. The crowning achievement of his debut year was an outright win at Oulton Park in October, an honour which had been within touching distance all season.

Cian will once again join Chris Dittmann Racing (CDR), the eponymous team run by the 2012 F3 Cup Champion. CDR also runs a successful campaign in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship so the team’s F3 knowledge is extensive and places the Irishman well to challenge for overall honours this year.

Racing under Motorsport Ireland and Sport Ireland, Cian’s distinctive Dallara F309 VW Speiss will sport a striking new livery this year – with trademark green flashes, naturally!

F3 Cup’s 2018 season kicks off at the revamped Donington Park circuit on 21-22 April.
