Multiple Superbike Champion Brian McCormack to Make Rallycross Debut!

Eleven time bike racing Champion Brian McCormack will make his 4 wheeled racing debut at Mondello Park on November 1st when he competes in the new Patch Tyre Equipment/Naas Court Hotel backed Fiesta Series.
The series, for standard 1.25 litre Zetec engined Ford Fiestas, has been a huge success as a motor racing class and has now been introduced as a budget Rallycross class. The series, run by the Irish Rallycross Championship, is promoted by Leo Nulty Promotions- and they have brought Brian onboard for the opening round.

The Patch Tyre Equipment/Naas Court Hotel Series takes place over two dates- Nov 1st and Nov 22nd. Both at Mondello Park in Kildare. Cars are standard Fiesta Zetecs with just a few safety modifications allowed.

Leo Nulty: “Brian and I have spoken on many occasions about getting him into a car and this “mini championship” for the Fiestas presented us with the ideal opportunity. You never know what it might lead to- and Brian certainly won’t be on the grid just to make up numbers.”
Brian McCormack: “The domestic bike season is just finished and this looks like great fun. I have always wanted to try racing a car of some sort and this looks like the perfect opportunity.I would like to thank Leo and The Irish Rallycross Championship for making this possible .It is a two round Championship, so if round one goes well, we might not be able to walk away!”
The series also receives support from McLoughlin Industrial Flooring, Motorsport.ie, partsforcars.ie and Mondello Park. Main Image from Derek Wilson.
