INSIDE LINE- British F4 Time, with Lucca Allen

My name is Lucca Allen. This year I am going into my first full year in Formula 4 cars after five years in karts during which I won multiple championships including the 2014 National championship.

Last year, as soon as I turned 15, I raced the second half of the British F4 season with Falcon Motorsport.

For this season I have signed with one of the top teams in the championship, Fortec Motorsport. It’s going to be a great advantage having teammates to work with this year as we can learn from each other’s data and ‘onboards’ as opposed to last year where we had to find our own pace.

I have done a few tests with Fortec over the winter. We had a few ups and downs trying to find the right set up etc. but I have a great bond with Olli (Dutton) and the team so I think it will be a great year for us. I have shown I have the pace to be up there this year so now we need to put the head down to grind out consistent placings as it is a long championship.

My main goals for this year are to keep a good mindset throughout the championship and to be as consistent as possible. I’m also working to get a good technique that suits me in qualifying as it will play a big part this year.

I have also signed with management company DCM this year. I was delighted to sign with one of the top management companies in the business. I have built a great relationship with my manager Henry and he has been a massive help since we signed.

The first round of the championship is at Brands Hatch on the 7-8th of April. I have done everything possible to prepare as well as I could for this season and I can’t wait to get started. Check back in in two weeks time to hear how I get on!
