Nicole Drought to test a SEAT Supercopa – Motorsport.ie

21 year old Nicole Drought from Roscrea, is to test a 300bhp SEAT Supercopa at Mondello Park next week. Nicole scored 5 podiums in the Touring Class of the Irish Touring Car Championship (ITCC) in her debut year. She was subsequently nominated by Motorsport Ireland for their Young Driver of The Year- award supported by both the Irish Sports Council and Dunlop, with the winner receiving a funded season of single seater motor racing worth in excess of €50,000. Nicole is the first woman to be nominated in the history of the award.

Nicole Drought:
“I grew up watching the British Touring Car Championship on TV and this is practically a full specTouring Car. With 300bhp and a proper paddle shift gearbox, it should be great fun- I can’t wait. I would like to thank the SEAT Supercup organisers for this incredible opportunity.”

Oisin O’Briain, SEAT Supercup Ireland Manager:
“‘Having followed Nicole’s progress in the ITCC this season and been aware that she is looking at joining the SEAT Supercup Ireland for 201,6 we are excited to give her an opportunity to test one of our Leon Supercopas. Becoming the first female to be selected as a Motorsport Ireland Young driver of the month caps a great season for Nicole and we hope the SEAT test will create opportunities for her to join our grid next season.  I know SEAT Ireland are very excited by the prospect of having her mixing it with the boys in 2016.”
