WORLD RX AND LYDDEN HILL TO STAR ON BBC TOP GEAR

The FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy will be featured on the next episode of BBC Top Gear.  The show will be broadcast at 8pm on Sunday 8 March on BBC2.  Presenter James May will drive a World RX Supercar while co-presenters Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond stand in as May’s spotters.

The special rallycross feature, which was filmed at Britain’s Lydden Hill race circuit late last year, also stars US-based Top Gear presenter Tanner Foust who is the first American to have won a round of World RX. Several other World RX drivers also appear on Top Gear.

Sunday’s show will be broadcast simultaneously in more than 50 countries as Top Gear will be seen in locations across Australia, Africa and the Middle East at the same time as the programme is shown on BBC2 in the UK.  A further ten countries including Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong will screen the programme within 24 hours of the UK transmission.

Top Gear is broadcast in 214 territories worldwide with an estimated global audience of 350 million.  The show holds the 2013 Guinness World of Record as the world’s most watched factual television programme.
